Because Working Inside the Office is so Mainstream

We’ve always had this huge balcony outside our office and sometimes went out to enjoy the warm sun in winter with our coffee mugs and soups… (don’t you just miss winter?) :) But we couldn’t stay outside for long because we didn’t have any balcony chairs; and when it came to working, it was a bit difficult coz we had to drag the office chairs outside and they weren’t comfortable without a desk…etc :(

So in April -as part of many efforts to make our office just a little bit more awesome- Yusuf sat down with Salma Osama and sketched out a nice little garden in the balcony. Take a look at those photos to watch the tiny steps of transforming our empty balcony into a little refreshing and relaxing (yes you can be refreshed and relaxed at the same time) work space! Celebrating 10 thousand Trustians – or just enjoying Pizza?

They told us we’re going out for pizza at this new place called Crust in Maadi (really cool place by the way) to celebrate the fact that…

It was a hot Wednesday afternoon and several people from the team were calling in sick -blame it on weather changes or excessive working hours, as you wish :P- that we ‘almost’ cancelled the outing. But thank God we didn’t…coz we all needed the change :)

It started with Hadeer being too hungry to talk to us that she decided to play some games on her red-hood ipad.

Meanwhile, Islam was also engrossed in his phone for some reason! Oh those techies…*sigh*

(the reason turned out to be that he was our “secret ninja” mobile app developer -have you seen our NEW android mobile app?! :D)

And then there was Yahia smiling and laughing like he always does – also secretly very hungry… and Nazly playing with the menu impatiently (come’on people, where’s the PIZZA?!)

And Moustafa being very late thinking that he’ll be able to escape paying and giving us scary looks. No Moustafa we’re not afraid of you!!!

Okay, maybe just a little…

Aaaanndd..we’re finally eating! Pizza, pasta, calzone and salads, not to mention mouth watering desserts!! The food was really awesome and quite creative with the ingredients :) Way to go Crust chefs ;)

Finally, the time comes for that groupie/selfie photo of all of us, with Saher as always setting the self-timer on the camera and sprinnnnnting around the table to get himself into the picture on time! (Some adrenaline rush we get then, every single time) :)

Here’s a little thing or two to know about the team;

Oh, and by the time we posted this, the number of Trustians has reached 11,100… HAH! :D

Trustious at ITWorx

With quite a few successful experiences in growth hacking, our founder Omar Maher was invited to give a session about growth hacking in ITWorx.

Omar tried different growth hacking techniques when building and spreading Trustious, and this year started his own initiative Rashahly Ketab, reaching more than 45,000 users in less than 4 months, with a large percentage of this number participating actively on the group.

Attending the training session were 40 people from different functions including product owners, marketers, mobile developers, quality managers & division managers; as well as CEO Wael Amin.

Omar explained the different phases of customer engagement and the growth hacking techniques used in each phase. He gave examples of best practices he had studied from tech giants including Pinterest, TripAdvisor, Foursquare and more.

Attendees showed a high level of engagement, especially when Omar showed examples from Trustious GH techniques in different stages; 1. Acquisition: getting people to know about your app, 2. Activation: getting them to “do” a certain action, 3. Retention: encouraging them to keep coming back to the app, and spending more time on it, and lastly 4. Referral: motivate people to invite their friends to use the app.

An important step in Growth Hacking was also highlighted, and that is A/B testing and analysis. This method helps verify that any new design, or new call to action will actually have a more positive effect than the previous one. It saves you the “trial and error”, by letting you test your new tactic (or same tactic with new design) on a sample of users and comparing the results.

In the end he moderated a discussion about suggestions for the infrastructure of Growth Hacking in ITWorx.

Well, all we have to say is that Trustious is proud of Omar Maher :)

Building Healthy Minds: Parenting sessions in Trustious HQ

Trustious had the pleasure of hosting throughout last February a workshop titled “Building Healthy Minds”, given by education expert and internationally recognized IB consultant, Mrs. Nevine El Souefy.

Given over four weekly sessions, the workshops were attended by mostly mothers, a few dads, and to our delight, two engaged girls as well. They believed these thing better be learned early on!

The four sessions discussed the following;

  • The bases of adult/child interaction
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Discovering the world through play
  • Emotional  abstract thinking
Because we care for impact more than anything, we asked the attendees to write their feedback about the sessions, and here are some of the testimonials we got;

“Dr Niveen was very knowledgeable and experienced about the material, she was very generous with her ideas and very patient and accepting to our need to share stories..yet always keeping us focused and to the point. All in all it was a very useful course with very fruitful results that i can already feel in the way i deal with my kids”, Nehal El Koshairy.

“The group was very nice and the place is comfortable and look like home. Dr. Nevine of course is a wonderful person who gives ppl as much as she can”, Radwa Fattouh.

“Ms. Nevine was really professional and she had very effective and practical answers for our concerns and questions. She also accepted our suggestions, and then she built on what we mentioned”, Eman Onsy.

“The course was very successful and fruitful starting from the place, it was a good choice as it is considerably near to most of the attendants and in a quiet place that helped us to focus. Ms Nevine is very knowledgeable and full of experience and i really liked the point of sharing with us some of her family and kids situations that helped us reflect on ours and on the course itself”, Heba Soliman.

Of course there were a few comments here and there which we will make sure to make better in the coming sessions :)

We also received some lovely notes for Trustious. Thanks to everyone who posted on our board!

“Thank you Trustious. Your motives, ideas, activities, and sessions are making the best of us. Keep up your pro-activity”, Amena Nasser.

“It was a wonderful course, Thanks Trustious. Keep mums in your plans, they need your support always”, (we’re not sure) :)

“Thanks for giving us the chance to have this fruitful session”, Mayan Samy.

We at Trustious love taking part in the development and enhancing of parents’ experience with raising their children, looking for the right education and more…

We’ll be hosting hosting similar events on a regular basis, if you’re interested please follow us on Facebook.

Know the Stars, Be One of them!

Have you heard of the Trustious Stars team? Now it’s time to introduce you to each one of the Stars. Are you ready? ;)

You can skip to the end if you want to know How To Be a Star!

Our first Star is Nour Naguib, the restaurant expert. Following are Yousef Zohdy and Ghada Essawy, the biggest readers on Trustious. And finally Pierre Iskandar, the big gamer! Click on any of the Stars names to know more about them, or just scroll down ;)

The Restaurant Expert

  • This is a very special Star who’s been with us since day one, never letting Trustious miss her. Even when she went abroad, she was filling our stream with review after review of restaurants and food items of all kinds. Any time you open Trustious, you will see Nour Naguib’s name shining on the home page, whether adding a new review or getting a vote for an old one.

There is nearly no restaurant or café in Cairo that Nour hasn’t been to. And if she’s been there, then you’ll find a review about it; it’s that simple :) But she doesn’t stop at that, Nour amazes us with a very helpful book review every now and then. She’s just always there for Trustious, and that’s why we love her :)

Nour’s profile:

The Reading Guru

  • He is another Star who was one of the very first people to have an account on Trustious; though he wasn’t just a user of the application. He had helped the founding team with financial projections when they were first building the company. And till this day, Yousef Zohdy comes to us with feedback of all kind. We don’t know what we’d do without his heads ups :)

Yousef keeps on sharing with us reviews on the books he has read – and they are a lot – ranging from Arabic novels, to English ones to religion to nonfiction reads. He just keeps coming back with more and more books all the time :) However, if you open his profile you wouldn’t just find book reviews, you’d find cars, games, shops and restaurants as well. And that’s why he is a Star :)

Yousef’s profile:

The Book Addict

  • This Star could easily be given the title “Most Loyal Trustian”, we really consider her family. She’s there in every event Trustious holds, every contest, every initiative; and is the first one to like our posts on Facebook :)) She’s also been inviting many people to Trustious who turn out to be as active as she is, and she wrote a note on her Facebook account about Trustious’s campaign “Ra2yak Byefre2”! It’s safe to say that Ghada Essawy really is our Most Loyal Trustian!!

She is another book addict that never fails to write FULL brilliant reviews on the books she reads. She has a special interest in religious and spiritual books, and light Arabic reads as well. But of course, Stars never limit themselves to one category; Ghada has many reviews in food items, restaurants, and shops. And that’s why we love her :)

Ghada’s profile:

The Big Gamer

  • This Star is a game expert who pours his heart and soul into each of his reviews; it’s like he created the games himself :D But this is not the only reason he is a Star, Pierre Iskandar was another early Trustian who amazed his with a whole blog post about us, telling to his followers who we are and what we do, and taking them on a tour too! It’s people like him that make us feel like we’re really making a difference.

Another thing that we love about Pierre is that he has set the bar high for himself and has almost never written a review that is less than AWESOME, even the book and restaurant reviews! We are really proud to have you with us Pierre :)

Pierre’s profile:

Those Stars are not stars just because they post reviews on Trustious. They are Stars because they want to make a difference in other people’s lives and help them make better choices by sharing their knowledge with them regularly and in great detail. We are truly proud to have them.

And now that you know the Stars, Here’s how YOU can be a STAR too ;)

  • Post an average of 20 reviews per month, OR
  • Post just 3 awesome reviews per month. What is an awesome review?
  • Your reviews should be an average of 60 words, and the awesome ones should an average of 200 words.

We’re waiting for your inner Star to shine ;)

نجوم تراستيوس

blog post 3

Smile

Stars !

عايزين نعرفكم على أول مجموعة من النجوم، وهي:
