Trustious at ITWorx

With quite a few successful experiences in growth hacking, our founder Omar Maher was invited to give a session about growth hacking in ITWorx.

Omar tried different growth hacking techniques when building and spreading Trustious, and this year started his own initiative Rashahly Ketab, reaching more than 45,000 users in less than 4 months, with a large percentage of this number participating actively on the group.

Attending the training session were 40 people from different functions including product owners, marketers, mobile developers, quality managers & division managers; as well as CEO Wael Amin.

Omar explained the different phases of customer engagement and the growth hacking techniques used in each phase. He gave examples of best practices he had studied from tech giants including Pinterest, TripAdvisor, Foursquare and more.

Attendees showed a high level of engagement, especially when Omar showed examples from Trustious GH techniques in different stages; 1. Acquisition: getting people to know about your app, 2. Activation: getting them to “do” a certain action, 3. Retention: encouraging them to keep coming back to the app, and spending more time on it, and lastly 4. Referral: motivate people to invite their friends to use the app.

An important step in Growth Hacking was also highlighted, and that is A/B testing and analysis. This method helps verify that any new design, or new call to action will actually have a more positive effect than the previous one. It saves you the “trial and error”, by letting you test your new tactic (or same tactic with new design) on a sample of users and comparing the results.

In the end he moderated a discussion about suggestions for the infrastructure of Growth Hacking in ITWorx.

Well, all we have to say is that Trustious is proud of Omar Maher :)

For the Love of Users

We at Trustious have an unspoken motto; Users are the heart and soul of what we do. The very purpose of the app is to make people’s lives easier and their shopping decisions faster and more successful. But more importantly, and in order to fulfill this purpose, we need them to feel at ease with the app itself; we don’t want the Trustious experience to be a burden, or a “necessary evil” :) Which is why we are keen on meeting as many people as we can – whether current users of the app or people who have never laid eyes on it – to get their feedback on their experience with Trustious. This is where her role comes, our brilliant User Experience Engineer; Eman El Koshairy.

Among a bunch of other things she does, Eman meets with current or potential users of Trustious in what we call ‘User Meetings’, in order to get their feedback on the app. How does this meeting go? We’ll let Eman her tell you herself.

“In a one-hour session I get a chance to take our users on a tour around the app and ask him/her to try out different scenarios and observe how they find the experience. Sometimes I ask them questions to get more insights on how they feel dealing with different pages on Trustious”, says Eman.

“Sometimes I also show them some of the in-progress features we’re working on before they are live on the app, and get their feedback on them as well”, Eman adds. “You can’t imagine how much this helps us fine tune our features and designs to be able to give people the most enjoyable experience we can”.

To everyone who has visited Trustious since the day we started, and given us feedback in user meetings or even by email or on Facebook. We want to THANK YOU… Thank you for making Trustious Awesome!

As for the colorful notes on the board, those are little encouraging messages our users write for us before they leave. They mean the world to us :) (by the way, those are just a fraction of the number of users we’ve met since we started, we just started the note collection a little late).

Our work is a never ending process, and we want to meet a thousand and one people before we are able to say “This is Perfect”. So are you willing to come on board and help us make a better Trustious? We would love to meet with you :)

If so, please fill in this form and we’ll contact you for a meeting.

Write an opinion as awesome as you!

1- Try being comprehensive. For example: if it’s a restaurant, you can talk about the atmosphere, the food, the service and the prices. If it’s an electronic device, you can talk about the performance, the ease of use, the battery…etc.

2- Try being organized. Put your words into bullet points or simple short paragraphs so people can easily read them.

3- Whichever the language you’re using, trying making it as clean and as clear as possible, and avoid using Franco-Arab as much as possible.

“Don’t vote”, said no one ever!

If you are already a Trustian or have heard or read about Trustious, then you must already know; Trustious’s content is created by people – and for people of course – but mainly, BY people. This makes the content sometimes awesome, sometimes less so. And for us to give the ultimate benefit to our Trustians, and for you to come back and check us out again, we need to make sure you get to see the more awesome opinions all the time.

Helpful 2

In order to do that, we need your help in VOTING for the opinions you see as HELPFUL to you. They don’t have to agree with your opinion, and they don’t have to be positive opinions about the item (i.e. “Sarah Loved Costa”); they just have to be HELPFUL, useful, telling you what you need to know about the item. The more you vote; the smarter, cleaner and more helpful our system gets!

In very simple words: Which would you prefer? To open the app to find rated items with EMPTY opinions or one-liners? OR to find rich, juicy opinions that tell you exactly what you need to know about the item in question? Pretty sure we know the answer to that ;)

In even simpler words: what does the small “Helpful” button do?

  1. Promotes great opinions: helps you find the most helpful opinions right away by showing them on the top of the item page.
  2. Promotes great people: helps you know which people are more helpful in which categories and thus which people to trust.

But remember Trustians;

  • It doesn’t do anyone any good if you vote an opinion Helpful just because it was written by your friend, does it? :)
  • Being the proactive awesome people that you are, you sure wouldn’t just read opinions and leave, would you? :)

Please VOTE “Helpful” – when it actually is!
